Clash of Clans Overview: Your Office Should Be Playing This Game

Chief, your troops are ready for battle! This is one of a few different notifications you will get while you are playing Clash of Clans on your phone or tablet. Clash of Clans is one of the few apps where I look forward to the push notifications, and slide to the right in order to rectify whatever is amiss or otherwise needs my attention. I am the Chief after all; the leader of a people. So why is that this game is so popular, and what makes it different than other similar games that are free to play, but allow players to purchase additional in game currency with real money? Let's first talk about what Clash of Clans is before we answer that question.

Clash of Clans is a combat/village building/tower defense game. You begin the game with a small village that has a defense or two, a town hall, and some buildings that collect and store gold (gold will be used for weapon, troop, and some building upgrades) and elixir (elixir is used to train troops, upgrade them, and upgrade certain buildings). You also have builders that build and upgrade additional things for you. The builders take time to build the things you tell them to, and if you do not have any available, you cannot build anything. Clash has an in-game premium currency called gems, and you can buy these with real money to speed game hacks up production on anything, as well as buy additional amounts of gold and elixir.

The primary point to the game is to attack other players villages, or prepare the best defense you can against other people from doing the same. When you attack other people or defend against them, something happens to what is called your trophy count. You win or lose trophies based on if you win or lose attacks or defenses. Your trophy count is used by the game (as well as your town hall level) to match you up with opponents who are relatively at the same level you. This makes it so that you will not have top-level money dumpers come through and destroy your humble abode without even thinking about it. As your trophy count and town hall level rises, so does the difficulty of your opponents.

As you upgrade your town hall, laboratory, and barracks, you will be able to unlock additional defense types, troop types, and upgrade those defenses and troops in order to vanquish every thought your enemy has of conquering you. The game is comprised of many types of land and air troops, and most of them have a unique ability that helps you. For example the giants target enemy defenses before other buildings, and goblins will aim for the resources first. This is why it is important to build your army with the units that fit your objective best. You want to use barbarians for a resource raid!!! All of your clan mates will laugh at you as you fail.

When you attack a village, you are able to select the troop type you want and location of deployment. You cannot control your troops once they have been deployed. Your troops will go after what they are designed to go after until that specific thing no longer exists, at which point they will begin attacking whatever is closest. Knowing where, and how many of what troops to deploy is where the strategy is in the game, as well as how to orientate your village walls and defenses. There are a ton of different options, however you will find a lot of online resources that advise players to do things a certain way.

Clans are my favorite part about Clash of Clans. Anyone can join or start a clan and play together with their friends. While in a clan, you will be able to give and receive troops to help in attacking and defending. You can also share replays of attacks and defenses with your clan to show everyone how you are doing. There is an internal clan chat system that lets you keep up to date with people in your clan and discuss strategies or whatever you want Like making fun of the guy who made a resource raid with barbarians What a loser! I am currently in a clan with many of my co-workers, and it is a blast ragging on each other and competing for the top spots in the clan (which is dictated by that trophy count we talked about earlier). It is a great game to play around the office (just dont get caught flipping out your phone for a quick raid while on the clock).

The two things that make this game shine for me, and makes it better than other games, is the fact that you do not need to pay in order to have a good time with this game, and the time commitment is minimal. You can spend as much or as little time as you want in the game and still have a lot of fun. Many games like this have you get to a certain point where you if you do not spend a little money, you fall way behind or get slaughtered my people who do. You will not run into this problem with Clash of Clans. This game is free and is a perfect game to waste a little time when you get bored or are waiting in line. Play with your kids, play with your wives, and play with your husbands, because everyone is playing it out here!

Should cities be car-free zones?, AsiaOne Transport News

BBC Autos | Matthew Phenix | Saturday, Apr 16, 2016

As smog-shrouded Mexico City enacts a temporary ban on cars, questions about the smartest ways to improve urban air quality.

Mexico City sits on an inland plateau hemmed in by a ring of volcanic peaks. This pollution-trapping topography makes air quality a constant concern for the 23m people who live here.

Last week, the country took a decisive step toward improving air quality by enacting a temporary periodic ban on private and federal vehicles in the city.

The rule - which will be in effect from 5 April through 30 June - prohibits driving in the city one day each week and one Saturday each month.

Hybrid and electric vehicles are exempt from the ban, as are government service vehicles, public transport options and school buses.

The strategy isn't a new one to Mexico; the city has employed variations of the so-called "no circulation" tactic for close to 30 years. And Mexico City isn't the first urban centre to dabble in car-free living.

Paris, a city with some air-pollution challenges of its own, slowed to pedal-powered speed on 27 September last year for an event that was designed to raise awareness for a citizens collective called Paris Sans Voiture (Paris Without Cars), itself inspired by the popular Car-Free Sundays in Brussels.

But Mexico City's ban is more than an awareness-raiser; the ban was enacted with the direct aim of mitigating air pollution. Last month, the city sank into a deep brown haze of smog when pollution levels, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency's Air Quality Index scale (see graphic below), passed the good aimbot 200 mark, prompting officials to issue the metropolitan zone's first air-pollution alert in 11 years.

The city ordered some 1.1m of the area's 4.7m cars - and close to half a million of them in the city centre - off the streets and offered free bus and subway rides as a further incentive to leave cars parked.

Mexico City's temporary vehicle ban and events like those in Paris and Brussels raise questions about the best ways to improve urban air quality.

India, whose urban dwellers breathe some of the world's dirtiest air, has tried a variety of solutions - not the least of which was a decision in 1998 to switch smog-shrouded Delhi's 1,600 city buses and 25,000 auto-rickshaws from diesel to cleaner compressed natural gas.

Last year, Delhi officials unveiled a plan that would allow vehicles with licence plates ending in odd and even numbers to operate only on alternate days - this following a decision to ban diesel vehicles older than 10 years.

And earlier this year, in an effort to curb congestion (and, by extension, cut pollution) by discouraging car-ownership, the Indian government instituted a 4 per cent sales tax on new-car purchases.

iSlash Game App For iPhone

When it comes to tips for iSlash there are a few we can look at. If you want to score really big points you want to slash as few times as possible. On some of the early levels it is possible to just use one slash to complete the level. Another tip is to try and get rid of as much of the shape as you possibly can, this will help your score, in this regard free game cheat your last slash is very important. When you are on the levels where you can pick up the bonus icons, it is important to get these, so look for big chunks of shape you can slash off. On some levels you need a bit of luck, wait for the right moment when there is a clearing and then slash away as much as you can.

If you are looking for cheatsfor iSlash then I am afraid that currently there are none available. This is still a new game so it maybe that in time someone comes up with some iSlash cheats, but as of now there are none available. You will just have to try and play the game in the way that it is meant to be played.

If you are looking for level walkthroughs then again it is quite hard to come up with any. There is really no set way to complete many of the levels, its just about timing a luck. One level that is very tricky though is level 35. This is in the shape of a spider. The temptation is to slash off the legs and then trap all the stars in the body. This is not the best method. You want to slash the body early on as this is a large area and will help you complete the level. Then you want to try and get the stars down one of the legs, then you can slash the other legs away. Trying to get the bonus icons on this level also helps.

The iSlash game app for the iPhone and iPad really is a great fun little puzzle game. It is one that is easy to play and yet very addictive. Some of the levels are really very tough and so it takes lots of practice and patience to complete them. So if you want a good fun little app that will keep you occupied for a while, then iSlash is well worth a download.
